We got out late again today, but felt we needed sleep because we still have not been the same since the run into Creede so we did not leave until 9:30 am. The Continental Divide Trail has been beating us down a little lately, but we are planning a comeback. We had a pretty decent hiking day on the Continental Divide Trail, but not enough to make up for the last to. So, we still have 24.5 miles to Twin Lakes, Co. Today, there was a lot of road walking through areas shared with ATV’s…nice people but they sure tear up the trail.
I almost had a chipmunk eating pop tarts out of my hand at Tin Cup Pass.
We are hoping for a big day tomorrow and going to try and make the entire 24.5 to twin Lakes and our food drop. A storm slowed us down again today. It seems like it has rained on us everyday for awhile. We met a group of ATV’ers from Iowa and they were amazed that we would undertake such a journey. we camped above Texas lake and have some river fording to look forward to tomorrow.
