The Iron Master’s Mansion is a historic hostel located in the beautiful Pine Grove Furnace State Park. The historic hiker hostel was built around 1829 and has served the area in some capacity since that time.
In 2011, the hostel was renovated and taken over by the Central Pennsylvania Conservancy. The CPC does an excellent job of preserving this historic site and working with the state park service to offer use the facility for educational opportunities. The cost of room and board go to the CPC and aid in the ongoing preservation of this historic hiking hostel.

The Iron Master’s Mansion offers individual accommodations for overnight or weekend guests. However, The mansion can also be reserved for groups giving them exclusive ruse of this historic hiking hostel for them and their guests. It will create an experience to remember.
Additionally, the mansion has 2 large dormitory style rooms used for overnight guests and a maximum capacity of 28. In each of the dormitory room there are 7 bunk beds or 14 single bunks.
What are the sleeping arrangements?
There are two dormitory style rooms at this hiker’s hostel. Generally, the men stay on the second floor and the women stay on the first floor. Each floor has a bathroom and shower.

The one night single rate is $25.00. The price includes tax and a basic breakfast of juice, coffee, and waffles.
For $30.00, overnight guests can enjoy a pizza as the evening meal.
There is a store located next to the hostel that is run by the state park.
